the aim of block buster is to bust all of the blocks by hitting them with the ball. each time a block is hit, the colour fades and the number inside goes down by 1.
it starts at 8 and once it reaches 0, the block disappears. once all 9 blocks have disappeared, you win the game.
but the challenge is you have to keep the ball in the playing area. to do this, there are 4 paddles (one for each side of the area) which you control by moving your mouse. when a ball goes towards the edge, you have to move the paddle in the way so the ball bounces off and continues busting those blocks. if you dont put your paddle in the way in time, the game is over.
there are 5 different ball speeds you can choose from - slowest, slower, medium, faster and fastest. choose the option you would like from the dropdown list before you start the game. the faster the ball, the harder the game becomes. the speed the ball travels can vary between computers. the speed can be changed at the end of each game.
make sure you keep the mouse cursor inside the game window otherwise the paddles will not move. as long as the cursor is a cross shape, the paddles will move. you can pause the game at any time by clicking on 'pause game' at the bottom right.
